Business Analyst

The Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting the implementation of technology and process solutions. The BA works closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into functional specifications, and ensure successful project delivery.


Key Responsibilities

1. Requirements Gathering & Analysis

  • Work with business stakeholders to understand needs, objectives, and challenges.
  • Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather requirements.
  • Document business, functional, and technical requirements in clear and structured formats.
  • Analyze current-state processes and identify gaps or inefficiencies.

2. Solution Design & Documentation

  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications.
  • Create process maps, user stories, use cases, workflow diagrams, and data models.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure requirements are well understood and feasible.

3. Project Support & Delivery

  • Support project planning, scope definition, and prioritization.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including IT, product, operations, and QA.
  • Assist in testing (UAT), validating solutions, and ensuring they meet business needs.
  • Support change management activities including training materials and communication.

4. Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams.
  • Facilitate meetings and presentations to communicate project progress and insights.
  • Manage expectations and ensure alignment across teams.

5. Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze data to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and KPIs to support decision-making.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data findings.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance, or related field.
  • 2-5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role.
  • Experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder management.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with tools such as:
    • Microsoft Excel, Power BI or Tableau
    • JIRA, Confluence, Trello, or other project management tools
    • BPM tools (Visio, Lucidchart)
  • Basic understanding of SQL, APIs, and software development lifecycle (SDLC) is a plus.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently or in teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

  • Experience within industries such as banking, finance, e-commerce, healthcare, or IT services.
  • Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or Agile certifications (CSM, PSPO).
