Software Asset Management Analyst

Job Title: Software Asset Management Analyst Duration: 9+ Months Location: 100% Remote

Description: Operational Support:

• Maintain software inventory and license records using systems like ServiceNow, Flexera, or similar SAM tools.
• Track software lifecycle from request to retirement, ensuring alignment with organizational policies.
• Assist with onboarding, renewal, and offboarding processes for licensed software.

Software Request & Approval Workflow:

• Coordinate intake, routing, and documentation of software requests.
• Ensure completion of necessary reviews (e.g., security, architecture, EULA/legal).
• Monitor SLAs and follow up with request approvers and reviewers.

Compliance & Governance:

• Support audits and license compliance checks.
• Identify and help remediate unauthorized or unlicensed software in the environment.
• Work with governance teams to enforce policies and flag violations.

Reporting & Analytics:

• Generate reports on software usage, license allocation, compliance status, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Provide data-driven insights to support renewals, vendor negotiations, and optimization efforts.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Liaise between IT, security, procurement, legal, and end-user departments.
• Provide support and training to end-users on software request processes and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

• 2 4 years of experience in software asset management, IT operations, or business analysis.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow), SAM tools (e.g., Flexera, Snow), and asset lifecycle processes.
• Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively across teams.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
