Job Duties

The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as an Enterprise Data Warehouse Analyst. The selected competitive candidate will provide exceptional delivery of services to the agency's Health Analytics Division.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

The position will be responsible for planning and executing the analytics roadmap for DMAS, analyze client applications, propose data quality,
data integration and transformational rules. This position will evaluate load processes into the Data Warehouse, address data migration issues, sustain integrity of extract by identifying and resolving production issues, and answer user questions. The incumbent will be analyzing existing database schema/instance and determine impacts migrating to new target schema/instance environment, provide user education and training. The candidate will have an end-to-end vision on how a logical design may be translated into a physical database, and how the data will flow from source to destination, communicate verbally and in writing to translate technology to simplified business-oriented conversations. The incumbent will be required to create metrics and specialized complex reports to support DMAS' mission. The position will also be responsible for managing metadata, monitoring data quality and data profiling.

Minimum Qualifications

Competitive candidates will meet these minimum qualifications:

Knowledge/Experience in implementing, evaluating, researching, analyzing, extracting, transformation and cleaning of data.

Considerable Work-Related Experience with one or more databases like Oracle, SQL server, DB2, Teradata, MySQL, etc.

Considerable Work-Related Experience writing SQL scripts.

Knowledge/experience with one or more BI or analytical tool(s) like SAS, R, STATA, Tableau, Business Objects, Cognos, Qlickview, etc.

Knowledge/experience working with Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Knowledge/Experience interpretation and application of federal, state laws/regulations.

Experience in meeting deadlines.

Experience with internal/external stakeholders.

Additional Considerations

Competitive candidates will meet these Additional Considerations:

Knowledge/Experience with data modeling, data schema, ER diagram, snowflake schema, etc.

Knowledge/Experience with healthcare, preferably Medicaid, Medicare etc.

Knowledge/Experience writing BTEQ scripts and/or UNIX scripts.

Knowledge/Experience working with ETL tools such as Informatica, Ab initio, Datastage, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) etc.

Knowledge/experience in data warehouse design, data structure and data organization.
