Job Title: Pharma Commercial Analytics Lead
Location: Princeton, NJ
Position Type: Full-time
Role Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Analytics Lead to drive data-driven decision-making for our pharmaceutical commercial operations. This role will be responsible for leading commercial analytics initiatives, providing insights to optimize brand performance, sales effectiveness, market access strategies, and overall go-to-market execution. The ideal candidate will combine deep pharmaceutical market knowledge with advanced analytics expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of commercial analytics strategies across brands and therapeutic areas.
- Develop actionable insights to support sales force effectiveness (SFE), marketing performance, market access, and patient journey analytics.
- Manage data integration from various sources (IQVIA, Symphony, CRM systems, claims data, etc.).
- Provide advanced analytics support including forecasting, segmentation, targeting, territory alignment, and promotional effectiveness.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Finance to inform strategies.
- Lead the creation of dashboards and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Qlik, Tableau) to enable self-service analytics.
- Manage relationships with data vendors and analytics service providers.
- Mentor and guide junior analysts and offshore teams as needed.
- Ensure analytics solutions comply with regulatory and privacy requirements (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.).
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in pharmaceutical commercial analytics and digital health insights.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Life Sciences, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical commercial analytics.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical sales and marketing operations, data sources, and market dynamics.
- Proficiency in analytical tools (Excel, SQL, Python/R preferred) and visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik).
- Experience with syndicated pharmaceutical data sources (IQVIA, Symphony, etc.).
- Proven track record of translating complex data into actionable business insights.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and/or offshore teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MBA, MS Analytics, or similar).
- Experience with specialty pharma, rare diseases, or oncology preferred.
- Familiarity with AI/ML applications in commercial analytics.
- Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce, Veeva) is a plus.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
