Responsibilities and Requirements:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer to drive the design, development, and validation of body engineering systems including BIW, Interiors, Exteriors, and high voltage battery tray assembly. The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional teams, ensure robust engineering practices, and deliver innovative, lightweight, and manufacturable solutions aligned with global automotive standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Engineering
- Lead benchmarking, concept design, and feasibility studies.
- Oversee 3D modeling, drawing creation, and BOM generation.
- Conduct DFMEA, DFM/DFA, and DVP planning.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Drive legacy data migration and value engineering initiatives.
- Perform kinematic studies, gap & flush analysis, and hardpoint definition. Lightweight & Robust Engineering
- Develop lightweight solutions using advanced materials (SMC, CFRP, BMC, Magnesium, Aluminum).
- Apply robust engineering principles: tolerance stack-up, A3 problem solving, Poka-Yoke, and craftsmanship management.
- Implement CAD automation for DFM/DFA. Analysis & Simulation
- Guide static, durability, crash, NVH, and thermal-mechanical simulations.
- Optimize designs using CAE tools and CFD for aerodynamics and thermal management.
- Support plastic injection molding analysis. Domain Expertise
- BIW & Closures: Upper/Lower body, chassis, doors, tailgate, bonnet, lightweight closures.
- Interior Trims: Door panels, headliners, IPs, consoles, soft trims.
- Exterior Trims: Bumpers, grilles, spoilers, fenders.
- Seating: Structures, mechanisms, plastics, trims, wiring. Tools & Platforms
- Design: Siemens NX, CATIA, Solid Edge, SolidWorks, CREO
- Analysis: ANSA, ANSYS, Altair, LS-DYNA, Moldex3D
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/master's degree in mechanical/automotive engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in automotive body engineering.
- Proven leadership in cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of global automotive standards and validation protocols
Mandatory skills:
- Experience with lightweight material applications.
- Experience in EV Manufacturing
- Hands-on with CAD/CAE tools and simulation workflows.
- Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
