Location: Houston, TX or New Orleans, LA (Relocation within 6 months required if not local)
Job Type: Full-Time | Hybrid (Onsite Tuesday-Friday, Remote Mondays; Remote Fridays added in October)
Travel: ~10% to client sites along the coast
Clearance: Must be eligible for U.S. Security Clearance

Key Responsibilities
- Lead or supervise large-scale engineering projects or multiple smaller projects with complex features.
- Perform advanced structural calculations and develop innovative engineering solutions.
- Oversee conceptual, detailed, and production design for new vessels and vessel modifications.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including CAD and modeling staff.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communications.
- Participate in client meetings and occasional site visits to ensure project alignment and quality.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality assurance standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in structural or marine engineering.
- Strong knowledge of ship design, structural systems, and engineering principles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety regulations, and engineering manuals.
- Proficiency in mathematical concepts including geometry, trigonometry, and statistical analysis.
- Must be eligible for U.S. security clearance (active clearance not required).
- Background in oil & gas or marine vessel design (e.g., patrol vessels, tugs, barges, offshore support vessels).
- Experience with GHS, Maxsurf, SHCP, or FEA tools.
- Prior work with shipyards or marine engineering firms such as GIBBS & COX or BIRDON.
- Willingness to relocate within 6 months (relocation assistance and bonuses available for qualified candidates).
