Job Title: Mainframe Architect

We are seeking a seasoned professional with extensive experience in mainframe systems and networking for the role of Systems Infrastructure Engineer/Architect. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge and expertise in CICS, zOS, AIX, LINUX, MQ, and other related technologies.
Required Skills:
- CICS: Over 10 years of experience with CICS, including Transaction Gateway.
- zOS: Over 10 years of experience working with zOS.
- AIX: At least 5 years of experience with AIX.
- LINUX: At least 4 years of experience with LINUX.
- MQ: At least 5 years of experience with MQ.
Preferred Skills:
- DB2 & IDMS: Familiarity with DB2 and IDMS databases is a plus.
- Assembler Skills: Experience with Mainframe Assembler would be beneficial.
- Networking: Basic understanding of networking principles and protocols is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in our mainframe and distributed systems environments, identify root causes, and implement long-term preventive solutions.
- Migration and Upgrade Support: Lead and participate in migration and upgrade projects, such as upgrading CICS from v5.5 to 6.1, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Architectural Guidance: Provide strategic direction on system architecture, particularly when integrating new systems into our existing infrastructure. This includes standing up new tools like Instana on AIX and coordinating effectively with the mainframe.
- Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Mentor junior staff, share your extensive experience and knowledge, and help develop the team's skills and capabilities.
Experience:
The candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 10 years of experience in IT systems infrastructure, preferably within an enterprise environment, with a strong emphasis on mainframe technologies.
Education:
A bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., IBM Certified System Administrator - z/OS) would be advantageous but aren't mandatory.
