Overview
DecisionPoint seeks a Video Editor to transform raw footage into polished, engaging video content that supports a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. This role combines technical editing expertise with creative storytelling to produce high-quality videos for training, events, leadership communications, campaigns, and mission-critical messaging.
The Video Editor adds transitions, overlays, motion graphics, animations, captions, and sound design while ensuring all deliverables comply with accessibility (Section 508) and branding standards. This position works closely with videographers, producers, designers, and communications teams to bring narratives to life through compelling visual media.
This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Video Editor will:
Clearance Requirement
Candidate must possess a Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust (from any federal agency) or an active Secret clearance or higher.
Education (Required)
Bachelor's degree in Film Editing, Digital Media, Broadcasting, Graphic Design, or a related field.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Video Editor will:
- Edit raw footage into clear, engaging, mission-aligned video products.
- Add transitions, motion graphics, lower thirds, overlays, captions, and animations.
- Perform color correction, audio balancing, sound design, and pacing refinement.
- Ensure all video content meets Section 508 accessibility requirements.
- Apply enterprise branding, templates, and design guidelines to all edited content.
- Collaborate with the Video Producer, Videographer, Art Director, and communications teams.
- Prepare video deliverables for web, social media, broadcast, and internal platforms.
- Organize project files, maintain version control, and manage media libraries.
- Support rapid-turn editing requests for high-priority leadership or mission needs.
- Integrate closed captions, transcripts, and accessible formats into final outputs.
Clearance Requirement

Experience (Required)
- Minimum 5 years of professional video editing experience.
- Experience editing interviews, event footage, training content, and promotional videos.
- Experience adding motion graphics, transitions, and animations to enhance storytelling.
- Experience supporting communications or creative production teams.
Technical Knowledge (Required)
- Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, and Media Encoder.
- Strong understanding of video composition, timing, pacing, and narrative flow.
- Ability to prepare 508-compliant videos, including captioning and accessible formatting.
- Knowledge of codecs, exporting standards, and delivery specifications for multiple platforms.
Technical Knowledge (Preferred)
- Experience with DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro.
- Familiarity with DoD or federal communications environments.
- Experience with motion graphics, kinetic typography, or animation workflows.
Skills
- Strong visual storytelling, editing precision, and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail in audio, color, transitions, and content accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent editing projects under tight deadlines.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with creative and technical teams.
- Ability to interpret direction and translate scripts/storyboards into compelling videos.
