My name is Shannon, and I am a Recruiter with The Fountain Group. We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a Bioinformatics Consultant for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Waltham, MA. Details for the position are as follows:

Job Description:
Duration: 1 year

Key Responsibilities:

• Pipeline Management: Run and maintain NGS data analysis pipelines using automation tools such as Snakemake or Nextflow
• Infrastructure Development: Design and manage computing environments on HPC and cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, DNAnexus, 7B, and AWS Sagemaker AI
• AI/ML Support: Develop, deploy, and benchmark AI/ML models for bioinformatics and genomic applications, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) LLMs
• Automation & Agents: Build agents for routine analysis and automate metadata verification
• Visualization: Create user-friendly data visualization tools for scientists and research teams
• Containerization: Leverage tools such as Docker and Kubernetes for reproducible workflows and scalable deployments

Required Qualifications:

• Master s degree (minimum) or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field
• 3+ years of professional experience in a pharma or academic setting involving:
  • Bioinformatics pipeline development and automation
  • Cloud infrastructure and environment configuration
  • AI/ML model development and deployment
• Hands-on experience with NGS data analysis workflows
• Strong programming skills in Python and Bash
• Expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS (must-have), Google Cloud Platform, or Azure
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (preferred)

Preferred Experience:

• Benchmarking and optimizing AI/ML models
• Using platforms like DNAnexus, 7B, and AWS Sagemaker AI for scalable bioinformatics solutions
• Data visualization using scientific libraries (e.g., Plotly, Dash, Seaborn)
