Hi,
Location --- El Paso, TX - Remote after two weeks onsite, although anyone that will do hybrid will get priority selection.
Duration --- Long Term.
Must have LinkedIn profiles WITH picture.
You should focus on SAP SD folks, with heavy Sales Order Management and assessment/improvement advisory experience/expertise.
KPM notes:
- Client prefers native born Americans; then (this is no reflection on ECI)
- Senior Functional BA/Architect for Sales Order Management assessment
- Document processes, recommend improvements.
- Medical devices company, PE owned.
- SOM is currently on Great Plains, with many legacy s/w integrations
- Tech stack agnostic. Should only source SAP SD/MM, "sales order types" etc., so it's targeted at SAP future instance.
- Looking for someone with Medical Devices experience and manufacturing background in sales operations.
Client seeks to gain further insight into methods that can optimize and streamline Sales Order Management processes.
While the organization has a significant investment in their technology platform, the challenges are manifested in the underlying business processes and "ways of working."
Specific points, identified by the organization, include:
- Excessive Sales Order Touchpoints: Multiple handoffs and interventions throughout the order lifecycle reduce throughput and increase complexity.
- Time-Intensive Sales Order Entry: Considerable time investment required to accurately enter and process each sales order.
- Established Business Process Framework: Existing process structures and workflows have been defined but may require refinement/optimization for scalability and efficiency.
- Organizational Design and Resource Allocation: Current alignment of roles and resources may not fully support strategic or operational goals.
- Reliance on Legacy Paper-Based Systems: Continued use of manual documentation impedes speed, accuracy, and digital integration.
- Email-Driven Order Management and Support: High effort and manual review required to manage orders and customer inquiries via email, leading to overall inefficiencies and resource utilization.
- Manual Freight and Transportation Rate Calculations: Lack of automation in rate determination increases risk of error and delays.
- International Shipment Processing Delays: Time-intensive procedures due to manual workflows and insufficient automation tools.
With this understanding, Senior Management has requested that an assessment of the current Sales Order business processes be performed. The assessment will focus on key points including manual order entry, excessive touchpoints, reliance on legacy processes and methods, and resource misalignment. By evaluating these areas, the project will produce actionable plans to defined, documented to support the proposed changes. The intent will be designed not only to optimize internal operations, but also to support scalability, improve customer responsiveness, and align with Client's broader business objectives.
