Description

Technology teams enable technology infrastructure across four global brands, an e-commerce platform, a global supply chain, and 500+ geographically dispersed stores. These teams support in-store, mobile, e-commerce, data, and supply chain platforms to enhance customer experience and service in an ever-evolving industry. As a Principal Cloud Engineer on the infrastructure Cloud Team, your primary responsibilities will be designing, building, maintaining, and optimizing the cloud-based systems and services that support Columbia's IT operations globally, focused primarily on Microsoft Azure. You will collaborate closely with various teams, including enterprise, e-commerce, supply chain, and infrastructure, to ensure our cloud platforms meet their needs. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented group of engineers who share your commitment to building and supporting innovative cloud solutions that empower our developers to deliver exceptional products to customers. Design scalable cloud solutions aligned with business and technical requirements Lead the adoption of cloud-native architectures (e.g., microservices, serverless) Evaluate and recommend cloud services and tools (e.g., Azure Functions vs. VMs) Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code templates using Terraform Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment pipelines Mentor junior engineers on best practices in automation and DevOps Implement and enforce security policies, including IAM, encryption, and network segmentation Collaborate with Infosec to ensure compliance with published standards Conduct regular audits and reviews of cloud environments Set up and manage observability tools, Columbia uses Wiz.io, Grafana and Cloudability Analyze performance metrics and optimize workloads for cost and efficiency Implement autoscaling, load balancing, and failover strategies Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and incident postmortems Develop standards around Azure architecture, write and maintain clear documentation for infrastructure, processes, and standards Identify and drive improvements in deployment workflows and operational practices Help define SLAs, SLOs, and incident response procedures

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience designing and implementing disaster recovery plans in the cloud. 5 - 7+ years of experience as a cloud engineer 2+ years of experience as a cloud architect Expertise with cloud infrastructure and platform services (CIPS) in Microsoft Azure Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). A solid understanding of how distributed systems work. A strong grasp of programming fundamentals and you are proficient in one or more languages, such as JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, and C#. A strong grasp of core CI/CD guidelines .

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
