Job Description

Summary

Responsible for the architecture and design of IBMi, open, or storage systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Obtain requirements from App/Dev teams or other discipline teams.
  • Provides guidance, leadership and technical expertise for all initiatives as assigned.
  • Architects solutions and performs POC (Proof of Concept) testing and documentation.
  • Works with other teams creating an architectural model before moving forward with POC.
  • Documents, implements and reviews IT policies, procedures and solutions.
  • Initiates, facilitates and promotes activities to foster system architecture discoveries.
  • Reviews all discoveries with management and staff for continuity.
  • Initiates, facilitates and promotes activities to foster effective Risk Management awareness, including disaster avoidance, change and problem management.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the activities enumerated above.

Experience:

  • 8 plus years experience with multiple operating systems

Competencies/Skills:

  • Self starter and self sufficient
  • May require travel to branch and international locations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage in a matrix and global organization
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift and or move up to 50 lbs. (occasionally (30-60%)).

Vision Requirements: Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Typical Noise: The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

  • Required to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms.
