Lead Automation Test Engineer

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Lead Automation Testing Engineer for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Regulatory clients in Rockville, MD .

This position is 100% Remote

The main function of a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) is to develop and execute software test plans in order to identify software problems and their causes.

• Execute test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures. Test system modifications to prepare for implementation.
• Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, or usability.
• Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers.
• Identify, analyze and document problems with program function, output, online screen or content.
• Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes.
• Create or maintain databases of known test defects.
• Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates

Required Skills:

• Experience in leading team of 4-8 SDETs
• Build team/hire other SDETs as needed for the assigned workstreams
• Collaborate with other teams for integration/end-to-end testing
• Collaborate and mentor other Juniors as needed
• Take ownership of releases from quality side and assess risks to ensure product delivered with good quality on the scheduled timelines
• Full automation regression with less turn around time for release
• Computer science fundamentals - algorithm design, problem solving, complexity analysis and data structures.
• Testing process, test types, test design and testing methodologies
• Languages: Java, typescript
• UI automation using Playwright, Selenium
• Experience in designing and developing automation frameworks and test suites
• SQL
• API testing
• Certified AWS developer or commitment to acquire certification
• Perf testing with Gatling
• Collaborate with other teams for integration/end-to-end testing
• Collaborate and mentor other Juniors as needed

Preferred Education:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with 7+ years of experience in software development and/or automated testing with new tools/technologies

Or

• Master's degree in computer science with 5+ years of experience in software development and/or automated testing with new tools/technologies
