Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to join their team on a remote basis. This role involves establishing and maintaining key relationships with decision-makers within the customer organization to influence project details and outcomes. The ideal candidate will implement changes adhering to project governance and participate in multiple projects, occasionally guiding project teams. This position offers the opportunity to work with a leading technology solutions provider and demands a proactive approach to network management and problem-solving.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers within the customer organization to influence project outcomes.
  • Implement network changes in accordance with project governance standards.
  • Participate in multiple projects, providing guidance to project teams as needed.
  • Support existing Routing and Switching infrastructure including various Cisco devices.
  • Engineer solutions for integrating new routing and switching technologies into existing facilities.
  • Work collaboratively with external vendors and internal teams to ensure proper installation of necessary equipment.
  • Resolve complex networking issues related to connectivity, interference, and configurations.
  • Document changes and perform peer reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience with Cisco IOS Platforms and Cisco Systems products.
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN hardware infrastructure changes and configurations.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco switches and routers (e.g., 3560, 2950, 6500, 4500, 2800, 2900, 3900 series).
  • Proficiency in network protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, and other routing and switching protocols.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to present information clearly.
  • CCNA required; CCNP preferred. A BS degree in Engineering (IT, Telecom, Computer Science) is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a network engineering role.
  • Availability to work during nights and weekends as required by project demands.
