Job Details

We re seeking a Validation Engineer in Torrance, CA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience testing and validating high-voltage power electronics in a fast-paced engineering environment. This role involves setting up and executing environmental and electrical tests, documenting results, troubleshooting issues, and supporting continuous product improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, set up, and conduct validation tests on high-voltage power electronics systems and components.
  • Execute tests for thermal, vibration, humidity, corrosion, and electrical performance.
  • Collect and analyze test data, document results, and prepare detailed technical reports.
  • Support root cause analysis and issue resolution for test-related failures.
  • Select, install, and configure instrumentation such as accelerometers, strain gauges, thermocouples, and voltage sensors.
  • Independently operate standard lab and test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, flowmeters, etc.).
  • Fabricate specialized test fixtures, jigs, and harnesses to support testing and validation.
  • Assist in the design and assembly of custom mechanical or electrical test setups.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support validation and development efforts.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor s degree in electronics, mechanical engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience performing environmental validation testing.
  • At least 2+ years of experience fabricating specialized test equipment or harnesses.
  • Hands-on experience working with high-voltage systems and a strong understanding of safety practices.
  • Familiarity with machine shop tools and equipment (preferred).
  • Soldering proficiency and ability to assemble custom wiring harnesses (preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and component data sheets.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and occasionally travel to external testing facilities.
