C++ Software Engineer - with TS clearance

Requirement:

Contract position already funded through 12/31/24. Probably will continue beyond. May convert to FTE for right candidate. Please include target FT salary on the questionnaires when submitted. If your candidate holds a TS clearance but your agency does not have the ability to hold his clearance, we can possibly work out a way for us to hold the clearance and pay both the agency and the candidate. Client has an exciting opportunity for a Contractor - Software Engineer in our Client division with Top Secret Clearance. Candidate must have C/C++ skills, is energetic, creative and team oriented to work on latest SATCOM modem and networking technologies. The individual will be part of an engineering team that develops embedded networking and application software using latest toolchains in an agile software development environment. The position is based in our Germantown, Maryland office. Work is onsite 5x weekly.

Responsibilities

• Software design, development, integration and support activities
• Actively participate in software development
• Complete development tasks within agreed timebox
• Analyze and resolve software issues

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of software development experience in C/C++ and automated unit testing
• Must currently hold Top Secret Clearance for this position

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
• Experience with scripting languages Python/Shell, source control systems (e.g. GIT)
• Experience with web development viz. HTML/Javascript/JQuery/node.js
• Experience in Multi-threaded application development and inter-process communication
• Experience with networking protocols, messaging libraries, socket programming
• Experience of agile development methodology, especially Scrum and Atlassian tools like Jira
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively within a team environment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
