Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Network Architect for a contract assignment with one of our premier Utility services clients in Tampa, FL.
Responsibilities :
The Network Architect is responsible for designing and governing the enterprise network architecture to ensure it aligns with business goals, technology strategies, and security requirements. This role provides strategic direction, technical leadership, and architectural oversight for all network-related initiatives, including LAN/WAN, Cloud Networking and network security controls (i.e. proxies, network segmentation, NAC, ACLs, etc.)

Responsibilities :
The Network Architect is responsible for designing and governing the enterprise network architecture to ensure it aligns with business goals, technology strategies, and security requirements. This role provides strategic direction, technical leadership, and architectural oversight for all network-related initiatives, including LAN/WAN, Cloud Networking and network security controls (i.e. proxies, network segmentation, NAC, ACLs, etc.)
- Design and Architecture:
- Design and Implementation: such as route/switch, on-premise LAN/WAN, IPAM, Wi-Fi, ISP management, site-to-site VPNs, proxies (forward and reverse), Wireless, Load Balancing, DNS, automation and hyperconverged infrastructure.
- Security Management: Implement robust security measures, including NAC, Segmentation and intrusion detection systems.
- Identity Services (ISE): Work in the design and migration of ISE for the new data center.
- Projects: Architect and design network components for new systems and projects.
- Upgrades and Maintenance: Plan and execute network upgrades and maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Compliance: Ensure network designs and operations comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support the design for the migration of Identity Services Engine (ISE) to the new data center.
- Design network connectivity to support AWS Connect and interfaces with our internal systems.
- Support migrations of Call Center systems to the new data center. Architect and create the migration plans for network components.
- Lead the architecture and design of enterprise projects, initiatives solutions and proof-of-concept while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, affiliates, and business units to implement and support existing and future solutions.
- Support efforts for Network Segmentation and NAC.
- Ability to lift 50-75 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network architecture
- Knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
- Experience in designing and implementing network security solutions in critical infrastructure, especially in the electrical or energy sectors.
- Understanding of compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS, NERC CIP, ISO 27001). Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, and ISO/IEC 27001.
- Knowledge of network segmentation, DMZ architecture, and zero-trust security models.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with technical teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCNA, or CCNP are preferred.
