A recognized media organization in mid-town New York is seeking a seasoned Senior Business Analyst to support a major newsroom transformation initiative. This role will focus on operational and editorial analysis contributing to the rollout of new tools, workflows, and data-driven decision-making processes.


About the Opportunity:



  • Assignment Length: Long-term contract

  • Setting: hybrid role in NYC with on-site presence as needed, especially during the initial phases


Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct deep operational analysis across editorial and technical workflows.

  • Map current processes and identify inefficiencies and duplication of efforts.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders from field operations to senior executives.

  • Develop data stories and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.

  • Support the rollout of newsroom tools and workflows through 2026.

  • Work closely with program leads and project managers to define and track KPIs.

  • Participate in hybrid Agile/Waterfall project environments using JIRA.

  • Shadow operations and translate observations into functional requirements.


Qualifications



  • 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in media

  • Strong skills in process mapping, data storytelling, and presentation building.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and familiarity with Tableau.

  • Comfortable working in Agile/Waterfall hybrid environments and using JIRA.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with senior leadership.

  • Self-starter with the ability to ask smart questions and work independently.

  • Experience in business transformation or operational efficiency projects is a plus.

  • Media industry experience or technical aptitude to understand media workflows preferred.
