Position Title: Business Systems Analyst 1

Business Unit: Technology

Reports to: Manager of Business Systems Analysis

Position Overview:

This position is primarily responsible for supporting specific components of a large project or support initiative using project management techniques and analytical abilities. The incumbent diagnoses and solves business problems ensuring decisions are consistent with management directives and the Technology strategic plan. These decisions greatly impact the corporation and the operational effectiveness of the Technology Department. This is an entry point for external candidates and an opportunity for internal candidates who possess core competency and education and experience requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

Problem solves by collaborating on business operational assessments and Technology requirements, understands system functionality and elicits and develops requirements for assigned functional components and possesses basic business writing skills.

Troubleshoots issues and works toward resolution and participates in the development of Technology system plans and application roadmaps.

Creates documents using templates, assists with execution of test cases and scripts and identifies and documents quality assurance issues.

Works with teams and business users on most aspects of a project and participates in the various production change control meetings.

Works in a consultative fashion with the various internal stakeholders and also works with external contacts like assigned vendors.

Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.

Detail-oriented

Basic business knowledge, understanding of systems life cycle, systems integration, data flows, requirements elicitation, testing, reporting tools and relational database concepts. Competent in MS Office applications.

Licensures/Certifications Required to Perform the Primary Responsibilities of this Position:

Systems and Business Analysis classes including requirements elicitation and project management.
