Job Details
Our client is seeking an experienced an Engineering Supervisor-Network Communications Manager with a strong background in Data & Voice technologies to lead and manage a team of skilled engineers. This leadership role requires a balance of technical understanding and people management, ensuring operational efficiency, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor a team of engineers responsible for supporting and managing Cisco, Aruba, F5, and voice/data infrastructure.
- Allocate resources effectively across projects, support, and operational initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Analyze real-time performance metrics and operational data, extracting actionable insights and reporting them to senior management.
- Provide strategic direction and guidance to improve system performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Serve as a technical advisor, understanding infrastructure concepts even though hands-on execution is not required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to align engineering efforts with business objectives.
- Establish and enforce engineering best practices, change management procedures, and SLAs.
- Facilitate team meetings, provide performance feedback, and drive employee development and engagement.
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis for high-priority outages or service interruptions.
- Ensure compliance with industry and organizational standards related to security, operations, and infrastructure.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure with a focus on Data & Voice technologies.
- 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional engineering or technical teams.
- Strong understanding of Cisco, Aruba, F5, and enterprise networking technologies.
- Proven experience in resource allocation, team leadership, and performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and act on operational data and metrics.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices, change management, and service delivery models.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and executive stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in government or large enterprise environments.
- Prior involvement in collaboration services, network operations, or security operations.
- ITIL v3 Foundation, CompTIA Network+, or Security+ certifications.
Work Environment:
This position is primarily managerial and strategic in nature. The selected candidate must be comfortable leading teams, evaluating technical data, and making informed decisions without directly performing hands-on engineering work.
