PLEASE NOTE: This is a 12 month contract to hire and needs to meet Client full-time conversion policies. Those dependent on a work permit sponsor now or anytime in the future (ie H1B, OPT, CPT, etc) do not meet Client requirements for this opening.
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to design and build the core backend services enabling our clients CMS Interoperability Phase 3 initiative.
This role focuses on developing a secure, scalable Proxy FHIR Service and complex serverless workflows that power data exchange across healthcare systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a C#/ .NET serverless Proxy FHIR Service serving as the secure gateway for all interoperability APIs.
- Implement OAuth 2.0 / JWT–based security, Okta token validation, and internal token exchange.
- Design intelligent routing and multi-stage workflows for Prior Authorization APIs (CRD, DTR, PAS).
- Build resilient asynchronous jobs for payer-to-payer data exchange, claims data processing, and Salesforce data sync.
- Ensure compliance with HL7 FHIR US Core standards and CMS interoperability requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, analysts, and QA to translate technical specifications into production-ready cloud solutions.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of backend software development in C#/ .NET.
- Strong experience with Azure Functions and modern cloud architecture.
- Prior experience with FHIR APIs, CMS interoperability, or healthcare data standards.
- Deep understanding of RESTful API design, OAuth 2.0, and JWT security.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed technical specifications.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Da Vinci Guides (CRD, DTR, PAS).
- Experience integrating with Okta or similar identity providers.
- Salesforce API experience, cloud API gateways, or healthcare cloud data tools (AWS HealthLake, Azure Health Data Services).
