Job Title: Senior Agile Scrum/Flow Master
Location: Research Triangle Park, Durham, NC (Hybrid)
Type: Contract / Hybrid

Position Overview

The NC Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) is seeking a Senior Agile Scrum/Flow Master to support agile teams within the NC FAST organization. This role will facilitate agile ceremonies, support backlog planning, manage program increments, and drive continuous improvement across multiple projects and programs.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Agile, Scrum, and Flow practices, with a proven ability to guide teams, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure delivery of business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and other agile ceremonies.

  • Support release planning, Program Increment (PI) planning, and cross-team coordination.

  • Track assignments, monitor progress, and remove impediments to ensure timely delivery.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize backlog items and refine epics, stories, and tasks.

  • Measure agile metrics and drive continuous improvement for team maturity.

  • Provide guidance and coaching to teams on agile principles and practices.

  • Support technical teams in driving enhancements and project delivery.

  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Conduct risk analysis and report business impacts to leadership.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 7+ years implementing Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies.

  • 7+ years hands-on experience with JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint.

  • Experience in backlog management, work breakdown, estimation, and sprint planning.

  • Agile metrics measurement, risk analysis, and reporting skills.

  • Certified Agile Scrum Master or Kanban Flow Master (5+ years experience).

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Experience managing multiple priorities/projects simultaneously without quality impact.

Desired Skills & Certifications

  • SAFe SPC or SAFe Agilist for Agile transformation (3+ years).

  • Certified Project Manager (5+ years).

  • Experience with cross-functional team dependency tracking and program increment planning.
