Position Summary
The Senior Server Engineer is dedicated to architecting and sustaining high-performance, low-maintenance, and highly available server platforms that support critical business operations. This role involves hands-on management and optimization of the company's server infrastructure, providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
The Senior Server Engineer possesses demonstrated expertise in infrastructure lifecycle management, including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, documentation, and executing infrastructure upgrades and decommissioning. Additionally, the role requires proven experience in hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) management, specifically with platforms such as Dell VxRail, Nutanix, and other leading solutions, ensuring high availability, seamless scalability, and optimal performance to support enterprise workloads and business continuity.
Key responsibilities include leading complex IT projects, performing comprehensive system analyses, and overseeing the full lifecycle of business-critical IT systems. This role involves close collaboration with Group and Division leadership, subject matter experts, and third-party vendors to guarantee solutions are aligned with organizational objectives and adhere to industry best practices.
System Analysis: Conduct comprehensive system analyses to identify technology or process gaps and make informed recommendations for improvement.
Technology Development and Implementation: Assist in the design, development, and implementation of new technologies and services. Communicate project status and closure updates to key stakeholders to ensure alignment.
Technology Proficiency: Demonstrate knowledge of current information technologies, computing platforms, and network systems, including cloud computing, virtualization, and business intelligence tools.
Project Leadership: Lead or co-lead complex global digital and IT projects, ensuring timely delivery of results that align with organizational objectives. Offer strategic direction to project resources across multiple teams.
Vendor Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison for communications and project expectations with third-party IT and service vendors.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other closely related field and a minimum of four years of experience in managing Dell VxRail, Nutanix, and comparable hyper-converged infrastructure platforms. Proficient in managing and optimizing virtual machine environments utilizing vSphere and VMware. Experienced in managing MS Azure workloads and optimization.
Preferred qualifications:
Certifications from leading server vendors such as Dell, HP, or Cisco.
Experience automating data center and server management tasks using Bash, PowerShell, and Python, while leveraging REST and SOAP protocols.
Experience with open-source tools like GIT and Ansible.
