Job Description:

The State of Texas is seeking an experienced Lead .NET Software Engineer for a 100% onsite role in Austin, TX. This position requires a local candidate (within 50 miles) due to the mandatory in-person interview process. The ideal candidate will bring at least 15+ years of overall experience, including 4+ years in a leadership role, and must possess expert-level skills in C#, .NET, and Blazor.

This is a high-visibility role that involves working closely with developers, UX designers, analysts, and architects to build and maintain modern, scalable web applications.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage complex software development projects using C#, .NET, and Blazor

  • Design, code, test, debug, and document full-stack web applications

  • Enhance front-end and back-end systems using ASP.NET MVC, HTML5, SQL

  • Provide technical support, diagnose issues, and implement necessary changes

  • Coordinate with business teams to gather and validate technical requirements

  • Ensure compliance with DIR standards and Section 508 Accessibility

  • Create detailed analysis reports, web metrics, and recommendations for improvements

  • Work under general supervision with high autonomy and ownership


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 16+ years of software development experience

  • 4+ years of recent experience as a Lead Developer

  • Bachelor s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field

  • Proficient in:

    • C# (.NET), Blazor, ASP.NET MVC

    • SQL

    • JavaScript, HTML5, CSS

  • Strong experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills

  • Prior experience generating web metrics/statistical reports

  • Experience leading software development teams
