Job Description:
The State of Texas is seeking an experienced Lead .NET Software Engineer for a 100% onsite role in Austin, TX. This position requires a local candidate (within 50 miles) due to the mandatory in-person interview process. The ideal candidate will bring at least 15+ years of overall experience, including 4+ years in a leadership role, and must possess expert-level skills in C#, .NET, and Blazor.
This is a high-visibility role that involves working closely with developers, UX designers, analysts, and architects to build and maintain modern, scalable web applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead and manage complex software development projects using C#, .NET, and Blazor
Design, code, test, debug, and document full-stack web applications
Enhance front-end and back-end systems using ASP.NET MVC, HTML5, SQL
Provide technical support, diagnose issues, and implement necessary changes
Coordinate with business teams to gather and validate technical requirements
Ensure compliance with DIR standards and Section 508 Accessibility
Create detailed analysis reports, web metrics, and recommendations for improvements
Work under general supervision with high autonomy and ownership
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 15 16+ years of software development experience
4+ years of recent experience as a Lead Developer
Bachelor s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
Proficient in:
C# (.NET), Blazor, ASP.NET MVC
SQL
JavaScript, HTML5, CSS
Strong experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills
Prior experience generating web metrics/statistical reports
Experience leading software development teams
