Overview
BigBear.ai is seeking to hire meticulous and detail-oriented Data Labelers/Annotators to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to accurately annotate threat items in DICOS (Digital Imaging and Communications in Security) files and 2D images. The annotations will be used to train and validate our threat detection algorithms. This is a fully remote position with flexible working hours. Typically 10-20 hours a week, but occasionally more for urgent assignments.

What you will do
- Accurately annotate threat items in DICOS files and 2D images. Typically, this means annotation with bounding boxes but may extend to polygonal or pixel-wise segmentation masks
- Review and verify the quality of annotations to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Collaborate with the data science and engineering teams to provide feedback on annotation guidelines and processes
- Identify and report any inconsistencies or issues in the data
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all annotations
- Meet project deadlines and manage time effectively
What you need to have
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus over long periods
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and annotation guidelines
- Proficiency in using computers and basic software applications
What we'd like you to have
- Previous experience in data labeling or annotation.
- Familiarity with DICOS files and image annotation tools.
- Basic understanding of threat items and airport security protocols.
- College degree
