As the Associate Engineering Manager - Test Lab Operations, you will lead a dynamic test lab operations team that supports critical product engineering testing across our Medical business units that impacts patients worldwide.

This is a fully onsite role based in Portage, MI; candidates must live within commuting distance and be onsite 4-5 days per week.

What you will do
  • Lead and develop a team of supervisors, engineers, and coordinators to ensure efficient test lab operations
  • Oversee daily scheduling, resource planning, and execution of test activities aligned with business priorities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast and allocate labor, equipment, and space
  • Drive production test engineering activities and support new product development testing
  • Ensure compliance with test lab procedures and regulatory standards
  • Manage test request administration, including documentation, approvals, and closure
  • Support long-term planning initiatives focused on innovation and operational excellence
  • Contribute to budget planning, cost tracking, and strategic direction of the test lab

What you need

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in engineering, operations, or testing
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional collaboration
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across levels

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing or leading technical teams
  • Experience in production engineering, operations, or test automation
  • Proven ability to coach and develop team members through performance management
  • Familiarity with the healthcare industry and regulatory environment

Travel Percentage: 10%
