  • 3+ years of experience in outside plant engineering, preferably with fiber optic networks.
  • Proficiency with OSP design software (AutoCAD, GIS, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of fiber optic and copper cable systems, construction methods (aerial, underground, directional drilling), and splicing practices.
  • Familiarity with permitting, right-of-way, and utility coordination.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards (RUS, NESC, NEC, OSHA).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home), FTTx, or large-scale broadband deployments.
  • Knowledge of permitting processes in state DOTs and local municipalities.
  • Experience working with contractors and utility pole owners.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily office-based with frequent field visits to construction sites, utility poles, and right-of-way areas.
  • Requires the ability to walk construction sites and climb utility structures if needed.
