Business Data Analyst with TPM & SQL Skills
Location: Plano TX (onsite)

Data Analysis & Reporting (Core Analyst Duties)
Write complex SQL queries to extract, clean, and transform large datasets from data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
Analyze product, customer, and business performance to uncover insights, trends, and opportunities.
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, etc.) for cross-functional stakeholders.
Support KPI tracking, forecasting, and ad hoc business questions with high-quality data insights
Conduct deep dives into metrics like user retention, funnel performance, A/B tests, and feature adoption.
Technical Product Management (TPM/Data Platform Focus)
Gather and prioritize requirements for internal data products and analytics tools (e.g., data pipelines, dashboards, experimentation tools).
Define and maintain data tracking plans and event schemas in collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Data Engineering.
Write and manage technical specs, user stories, and epics in Jira related to data infrastructure and analytics needs.
Act as a bridge between business and engineering teams, ensuring data products align with business goals and technical feasibility.
Own the backlog for analytics and data platform teams, prioritizing tasks based on impact, dependencies, and stakeholder feedback.
Drive implementation of data instrumentation across product features using tools like Segment, Amplitude, or Mixpanel.
Project & Stakeholder Management
Manage project timelines and sprints using Agile tools (Jira, Confluence), ensuring on-time delivery of data products.
Conduct sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospective meetings with a focus on data-related initiatives.
Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment on metrics, definitions, and reporting needs.
Collaborate with Engineering and QA to ensure data accuracy, quality, and integrity across systems.
Strategic & Cross-functional Collaboration
Partner with product managers, marketing, finance, and ops teams to understand data needs and define success metrics.
Translate business questions into analytical requirements and deliver impactful recommendations based on data.
Participate in roadmap planning for data tools, helping scale analytics infrastructure and self-serve capabilities.
Identify and mitigate data gaps, quality issues, and performance bottlenecks in the analytics stack.
