This is 100% onsite work position based in Tallahassee, FL. Apply only if you are willing to relocate.

Position: Sr. Manager - Business IT Planning

Education: Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or financial related field and five years professional work experience.

Certification: Scrum Master certification

Required Experience:

  • IT and business work experience with a broad range of exposure to various technical environments and business segments.
  • Experience managing team(s) responsible in strategic planning, infrastructure and/or operational support functions.
  • Experience in a professional environment in public sector technology organizations.
  • Multiple past experiences with business process tools and how they were deployed for a successful outcome

Job Specific Knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA)

  1. Knowledge of transportation technology operations.
  2. Experience understanding business strategy and leading work to align technology with that business strategy.
  3. Expertise in strategic planning, tactical execution, project management, process management and gap analysis, solutioning, communication plans, and change management.
  4. Knowledge and experience leveraging both IT solutions and business process improvements.
  5. Ability to produce legible and complete functional documentation in a way that thoroughly captures business processes and inputs/outputs of the applications.
  6. Ability to analyze and accurately and completely define processes and workflows to design efficient information solutions, including missing or duplicate functionality in existing applications.
  7. Ability to work effectively with users and a project team, to identify and document requirements for the maintenance, enhancement, modernization, remediation, or development of computer application systems, including technical overviews and context diagrams.
  8. Ability to develop and manage business and information systems technical documentation in accordance with the Department s standards.
  9. Knowledge of relational database theories and concepts.
  10. Skill in testing complex applications and interpreting whether requirements and designs were met in the product.
  11. Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and prioritize work assignments for him/herself or lower-level analysts.
  12. Skill in accurately preparing schedule estimates for requirements analysis and computer programming tasks in a computer application maintenance environment.
  13. Ability to work effectively with other resources to build efficient, viable solutions in the maintenance of business applications utilizing all established Departmental standards.
  14. Ability to interpret and communicate technical information related to computer programming and data processing, both verbally and in writing.
  15. Advanced skills with Microsoft products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Power BI.
  16. Experience working on complex technology solutions.
  17. Knowledge of project management practices and agile methodologies.
  18. Knowledge of Rules 60GG-1 through 5, F.A.C.

Preferred KSAs:

  1. Skill in performing QA reviews and providing valuable feedback in determining that standards are met and that documents are complete and comprehensive.
  2. Knowledge of accounting concepts.
  3. Ability to understand and communicate highly technical and business requirements or concepts.
  4. Skill in data conversion techniques, data cleansing approaches and validating data relationships.
