TITLE: Senior Mechanical Engineer (ship REQUIRED)

CLEARANCE: Secret, obtainable within reasonable time based on requirements

LOCATION: Middletown, Rhode Island 02842

RATE RANGE: $55/hr-$65/hr W2 (no health benefits while on contract)

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a mechanical engineer, you will be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, building, and testing a torpedo tube deployment system capable of launching payloads from a submarine platform.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Design of electro-mechanical systems capable of surviving harsh environmental conditions (shock, vibration, temperature)

Proficiency utilizing CAD tools to create 3D models and drawings for technical data packages that meet ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards

Experience performing structural and thermal analyses to meet submarine environmental requirements.

Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards

Collaborative, creative thinker with experience leading complex projects with successful outcomes

Exceptional communication skills with experience writing technical papers and proposals

Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
