Job Description:
The Appian Data Migration Lead is responsible for architecting and executing the secure, accurate, and complete migration of legacy data into an Appian-based platform. This role includes defining transformation logic, mapping strategies, auditability methods, and ensuring ongoing data governance and reporting alignment. The Appian Data Migration Lead supports both cutover planning and long-term data lifecycle requirements in coordination with internal stakeholders.

The likely salary range for this position is $108,979 - $147,443. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

HOW AN APPIAN DATA MIGRATION LEAD WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
- Applies knowledge of API (Application Programing Interface) for data services and databases
- Designs, develops, builds, analyzes, evaluates, installs and administers database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management
- Designs and implements databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods
- Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation
- Defines database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation - May provide technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of a database environment
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology
- May coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals
- May serve as a team or task lead
- Ensure technical teams understand short term and long-term goals of the program and business efforts by facilitating communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Help clarify requirements and propose solutions that meet business milestones as well as directing the technical implementations.
- Engage current customers to understand critical needs, socialize and vet solutions, and advise on strategies to achieve desired results.
- Identify and select the best technical solutions and approaches to meet anticipated or actual requirements.
- Will jump in when necessary to help diagnose larger system issues and work with project managers to confidently complete projects on time.
- Additional tasks will include helping to determine high-level and detailed estimates, creating technical workflow and other supporting documentation to help drive the implementation of large enterprise systems projects as well as helping to implement best practices around technical development and deployment.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education:
- BA/BS degree (computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software, or related major)
Required Experience:
- 5+ years of technical leadership experience
- Appian Certified Lead Developer or Senior Developer
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
- SAFe Agilist or SAFe DevOps Practitioner
- Effective written and verbal communication skills (both technical and non-technical)
- Track record of leading and managing successful Appian implementations
- Deep experience in developing and managing Appian workflows, user interfaces, decision rules, and data models.
- Thorough understanding of and experience in software development lifecycle and Agile delivery methodology
Security Clearance Level:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
- This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.
