Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled iSeries / Power Systems Administrator to support and maintain our critical on-premise infrastructure within a leading casino resort environment. This role requires hands-on experience with IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems, system performance monitoring, hardware/software upgrades, and ongoing administration duties to ensure system reliability and integrity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Administer, maintain, and support iSeries / Power Systems hardware and software.
  • Anticipate, mitigate, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues; escalate incidents as necessary.
  • Manage service requests and incidents through the Help Desk Ticketing System related to iSeries / Power Systems.
  • Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure secure and reliable system implementations and upgrades.
  • Monitor iSeries / Power System file systems, shares, and permissions.
  • Track system performance; provide regular performance statistics and documentation of hardware/software configurations.
  • Plan and implement system upgrades, patches (PTFs), and hardware repairs.
  • Ensure system backups are functional and validated regularly as part of disaster recovery efforts.
  • Maintain a reliable testing environment that mirrors production for issue resolution.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed.
  • Maintain consistent and regular attendance, with availability for after-hours support as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Prioritize safety and follow all company safety protocols.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Associate degree in MIS or related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration and any other certifications or licenses required by law or company policy.
  • Preferred: Technical certifications (e.g., IBM System Administration 7.1+).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in iSeries / Power Systems administration.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with access, utility, security, and auditing tools such as IBM Client Access, Director, Navigator, BRMS, iSecurity, Help Systems, or absMessage.
  • Service-oriented mindset and ability to work within a collaborative team environment.
  • Professional appearance and adherence to company grooming standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with guests and team members across all levels.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
