Although this is a fully remote position, this team requests EST hours and we prefer candidates able to work onsite from our Lima Engine Plant in Lima, OH.

Alerts and Risk Assessments
  • Review, investigate, authorize/reject, and manage Alerts: (1) for exceptions to prints, engineering specifications, established processes, releases, or PPAP (2) in collaboration with Component and Systems Engineering (3) to ensure quality, continuity of engine production, and responsible control of costs
  • Pursue Alert closure plan development and implementation in a timely manner
  • Advise, review and approve engine plant risk assessments

Engine Plant and Supplier Quality
  • Lead or support containment, root cause analysis, and ICA / PCA development
  • Develop or approve sort criteria and test acceptance criteria
  • Support engine quality issue resolution at vehicle operations
  • Champion continuous quality improvement

Program Launch
  • Develop and execute PV plan in conjunction with Plant Launch and Quality Managers
  • Manage Launch specific alerts
  • Assist Launch Issue resolution

Change Management
  • Support Concern process, ensuring changes: are feasible, include plant costs, and have plant concurrence
  • Review, investigate, and authorize SREA's
  • Support engine plant Manage the Change process
  • Support TVM/MCR development, quality, feasibility, and implementation
  • Support supplier change production trial runs

Production
  • Support Engine plant productivity improvement actions in coordination with Product Development

Compliance
  • Review and sign annual ES records, Repair Procedures, and DCP
  • Coordinate IP and Conformity of Production engine testing
  • Learn, follow and communicate Powertrain Procedures (PTP),

Provide interpretation of component drawings, engineering specifications and 543 to plant personnel.

Represent Product Engineering in decision making and sign-off processes at engine operations

Coordinate with Resident Engineers at other company facilities to share best practices and lessons learned.

Build trusting relationships with areas involved in engine production to enable free flow of ideas and information

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering related field or a combination of education and equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years engineering experience
  • Data driven, team focused approach to problem solving
  • Appropriate personal skills to be able to work with manufacturing personnel and management
  • Able to support production with timely responses
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and apply new systems and processes
