About the Role

We are seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join a well-established public accounting firm that supports a diverse portfolio of small businesses. The firm focuses on maintaining accurate books, ensuring payroll compliance, and managing business and individual tax returns.

This role is not audit-heavy instead, it is centered on hands-on accounting, payroll, and tax preparation for industries such as real estate, construction, farming, trucking, and other small-to-mid-size businesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monthly Bookkeeping: Manage and maintain accurate monthly financial records for assigned business clients.
  • Payroll Processing: Handle payroll operations with precision, ensuring timely and compliant execution.
  • Tax Preparation: Prepare business and individual tax returns (with partner/manager review for accuracy).
  • Client Interaction: Work directly with small business clients, providing financial insights and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Continuous Learning: Participate in training, conferences, and mentoring programs to grow professionally.

  • QuickBooks (for bookkeeping)
  • UltraTax (for tax preparation)

Requirements

  • Active CPA license (required).
  • Minimum 3 5 years of experience in public accounting, bookkeeping, tax preparation, or payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.
  • Attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to clients.
