Description:
True Job Title: R&D Sourcing Manager
Location: Prefer Foster City, but can be remote in the US

The R&D Sourcing Manager will be responsible for sourcing and contracting development organizations to support client global Phase I IV clinical trials, as well as other ad hoc projects within the Vendor Outsourcing department. This role will primarily focus on clinical ancillary services and systems used across development.
Familiarity with technology, systems, and software is a plus, as well as experiencing supporting Medical Affairs organization(s). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of contracting frameworks and general legal terms. They must be able to quickly review contracts, negotiate business terms, and support the negotiation of legal terms. Strong organizational skills are essential to ensure accurate cataloging of terms and conditions in the contract database,
as well as support many sourcing and contracting negotiations at one time through our various systems.

The R&D Sourcing Manager may support the full vendor selection lifecycle, including RFI/RFP processes, vendor evaluation and selection, contract negotiation, change order management, and agreement closeout. They will assist other Vendor Outsourcing staff in resolving moderately complex contract issues and, with support from internal stakeholders and the Legal department, help negotiate less complex or lower-value contracts.
Excellent communication skills are required, as the role involves regular interaction with internal and external stakeholders, including Clinical Operations, Finance, Legal, Business Conduct, Vendor Management, and Payments. The candidate must be able to manage competing priorities effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
