Description APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design and produce optical lenses and components for Apple products. Establish vendor relationship and vendor base to deliver the optical component. Drive decision-making on optical architecture for the product. Provide technical direction for the optical components. Design and deliver the optical components. Provide guidance to the optical components vendors. Drive failure analysis of optical components until the issue is resolved. Optical design with Code V, Zemax, data analysis with Matlab or similar, high precision optical metrology, illumination simulations with LightTools or similar. International Travel Required 15%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $153,254 - $213,700/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Physics, Mathematics, Lens Design, Optics, or related field.
  • Experience and/or education must include:
  • Knowledge of Optical Design, including CODE V, Zemax, and LightTools
  • Using Design analysis and experience using Matlab
  • Applying Optical Testing and MTF testing
  • Knowledge of Design analysis, specifically of Image quality
  • Knowledge of Optical Testing - Metrology for performance verification
  • Knowledge of stray light characterization
  • Use of Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word software or equivalent
