Position Summary
The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing and testing electrical circuit boards used in Infusion Systems products. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical design and a proven track record of successful project delivery.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead advanced engineering projects with guidance from engineering management.
- Demonstrate expertise in electrical engineering, particularly in microprocessor-based circuit board designs.
- Design, troubleshoot, and verify signal integrity of digital interfaces like USB, SPI, I2C, SMBus, LVDS, MIPI, SDIO, I2S, etc.
- Analyze, plan, and complete complex projects, developing creative solutions and integrating subsystems such as wireless communications (Wifi, Bluetooth, NFC, etc), sensors (pressure, air-in-line, motor positioning, etc.), motors, and user interface devices (displays, haptics, speakers, etc.)
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams that include Software, Systems, Mechanical, and Manufacturing engineers.
- Support the development of manufacturing test fixtures and implement test automation using tools like Python
- Perform root cause analysis for issues observed during development, manufacturing, and in fielded devices.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure product availability and address end-of-life concerns.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards for electrical components, product safety, and EMC performance.
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., Cadence/Orcad, Altium, etc.).
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC 60601-1).
- Project management experience and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of digital and analog electrical circuits and systems.
- Experience with modern microprocessors and microcontrollers like ARM architectures.
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on design and project management.
Work Environment
- This is largely a sedentary role.
- This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
- Typically requires travel 5-10% of the time
