Job Requisition: DevSecOps Engineer ? CDC CAOS
Position Overview
Innosoft Corporation is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to support the CDC Cloud Architecture & Optimization Services (CAOS) program. This role will focus on enabling secure, automated, and efficient cloud adoption across AWS and Azure platforms. The DevSecOps Engineer will collaborate with application teams to design and implement cloud-native solutions, establish CI/CD pipelines, integrate security best practices, and develop monitoring and cost-management capabilities to ensure resilient, compliant, and optimized cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support to CDC application and infrastructure teams for adopting and optimizing cloud-native services in AWS and Azure.
- Assist in planning and executing application migrations to targeted cloud environments, ensuring smooth coordination with application owners.
- Implement high-availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) architectures in line with application resiliency requirements.
- Enable and support DevSecOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and continuous integration using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
- Deploy and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation) for repeatable, secure deployments.
- Implement security best practices in cloud environments, including Zero Trust principles, IAM policies, segmentation, and vulnerability management.
- Support acquiring and maintaining Authority to Operate (ATO) through NIST RMF, FedRAMP, and CDC-specific processes.
- Contribute to the development of continuous monitoring solutions for compliance and security posture management.
- Collaborate with CDC security teams to develop and maintain cloud security policies, compliance monitoring, and risk mitigation processes.
- Develop monitoring and cost-management dashboards to track system availability, service performance, and total cost of ownership.
- Work closely with CSP vendor representatives to troubleshoot, optimize, and improve cloud performance and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor?s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field (or four additional years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree).
Approximately 8 years? experience in DevSecOps, cloud engineering, or related IT roles.
Proficiency with AWS and/or Azure cloud services.
Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD automation tools.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation.
Strong understanding of cloud security principles, including IAM, encryption, and network segmentation.
Familiarity with NIST RMF, FedRAMP, and ATO processes.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or DevOps Engineer).
Experience working in CDC, federal IT environments, preferably in healthcare or public health agencies.
Familiarity with rolling ATO or continuous compliance monitoring.
Knowledge of cost optimization strategies and cloud financial management tools.
Experience developing or supporting automated monitoring and alerting systems.
Work Location
- Primarily remote with potential travel to CDC?s Chamblee Campus in Atlanta, GA, or other approved locations as required.
