Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise Storage and Networker Backup Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and maintenance of our enterprise storage systems and Networker backup infrastructure. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, integrity, and security of our data storage and backup systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise storage solutions, including storage area networks (SAN), network-attached storage (NAS).
  • Configure and optimize storage systems to meet performance, capacity, and reliability requirements.
  • Manage and maintain backup infrastructure using Networker or similar backup technologies.
  • Develop and implement data backup and recovery strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform regular data backups, verification, and restoration activities to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
  • Coordinate with vendors for procurement, installation, and maintenance of storage and backup equipment.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain storage infrastructure components, including storage arrays, switches, and virtualization platforms.
  • Optimize storage performance by implementing and fine-tuning caching mechanisms, tiered storage, and data deduplication techniques.
  • Ensure data integrity, availability, and disaster recovery readiness through effective backup and replication strategies.
  • Conduct regular capacity planning assessments to identify storage growth requirements and make recommendations for expansion or upgrades.
  • Monitor storage and backup systems' health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, database administrators, and application owners to integrate storage solutions with other infrastructure components.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement storage-related security measures, such as access controls and data encryption.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather storage requirements and develop storage architectures that meet performance, availability, and scalability needs.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies related to enterprise storage & backup solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including design specifications, configuration guides, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in change management processes, ensuring storage-related changes are implemented in a controlled and coordinated manner.
  • Assist in evaluating and selecting storage vendors and technologies, considering factors such as cost, performance, and compatibility with existing systems.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve storage-related incidents and problems
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Storage+, Pure Storage, EMC Proven Professional, NetApp Certified Storage Associate) are a plus.
  • Proven experience as an Enterprise Storage and Networker Backup Engineer or a similar role.
  • Experience in configuring and managing Networker or other enterprise-level backup software.
  • Solid understanding of data backup and recovery concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in storage and backup hardware, including disk arrays, tape libraries, and backup servers.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot storage and backup issues.
  • Strong knowledge of storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, block-level and file-level protocols (e.g., Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS/SMB), and storage virtualization.
  • Experience with enterprise storage systems such as Pure, Hitachi, NetApp FAS, EMC, or similar.
  • Proficiency in storage management and provisioning tools, monitoring and performance tuning utilities, and backup and replication solutions.
  • Solid understanding of storage networking concepts, including zoning, masking, and fabric architecture.
  • Familiarity with cloud storage platforms and object storage concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating storage-related tasks and familiarity with reporting tools (e.g. PowerBI) are desirable.
  • Knowledge of storage security best practices and experience implementing storage-related security measures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $ 107,500. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
