Job Title: Project Manager – HR & HRIS
Location: Santa Clara, CA (Hybrid)
Duration: Contract
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – HR & HRIS to lead and drive HR-related initiatives from inception through completion. This role will focus heavily on Workday programs, HR process redesign, and usability improvements across a global suite of HR functional modules. The Project Manager will partner closely with project sponsors, HR leadership, and the PMO to ensure successful delivery of projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Governance
Own and drive overall project success by leading governance reviews, managing risks and issues, and overseeing scope changes.
Ensure compliance with project standards, methodologies, and governance requirements.
Planning & Execution
Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project plans in collaboration with project sponsors and stakeholders.
Ensure milestones, dependencies, and deliverables are clearly defined and achieved.
Status Reporting & Stakeholder Collaboration
Maintain up-to-date project plans and documentation.
Provide regular status updates and progress reports to project teams, PMO, and executive leadership.
Vendor Management
Manage external vendors including onboarding, coordination, and performance tracking.
Monitor contracts, purchase orders, and invoicing for accuracy.
Proactively manage vendor renewals and contractual timelines.
Resource Management
Track and monitor resource allocation across projects.
Ensure accuracy of management reporting and project planning tools.
Required Skills & Experience:
Program / Project Management:
5+ years of experience managing complex, cross-functional projects using structured project management tools and methodologies.
HR Systems Experience:
Proven experience managing Workday or similar HRIS implementations or enhancements is highly preferred.
Vendor Management:
Strong experience coordinating with external vendors and consultants.
Ability to establish and manage a coordinated PMO with vendor project leads.
Documentation & Standards:
Proficient in creating and maintaining project documentation aligned with PMP standards.
Leadership & Communication:
Collaborative and motivational leadership style.
Strong ability to communicate clearly and influence executive leadership through concise written and verbal communication.
Adaptability:
Comfortable managing ambiguity and adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Global Experience:
Experience working in complex, global environments across multiple regions and time zones.
Tools & Technology:
Proficient with Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and Asana.
