Title: Senior SCADA Analyst

Location: Alvin, TX

Type: Full Time, Direct Hire

Schedule: Onsite, M-F.

Summary

Under general supervision, plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates complex engineering projects, serving as a staff advisor or consultant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages engineering and project management for large or complex projects.
  • Leads performance, cost, and scheduling studies using innovative techniques.
  • Provides advanced technical expertise to operational areas.
  • Communicates engineering ideas and recommendations to diverse audiences.
  • Represents interests in advanced engineering matters.
  • Resolves broad technical and organizational issues.
  • Offers technical support and interacts with associates.
  • Develops and improves engineering standards.
  • Supervises contractors and personnel, providing training as needed.

Competencies

  • Extensive knowledge of engineering principles for generation, transmission, distribution, and system planning.
  • Ability to apply national, state, and local codes (IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NESC, etc.).
  • Translates electrical theory to enhance system reliability and make informed repair decisions.
  • Comfortable working around high-voltage (up to 345kV) equipment.
  • Proficient in budget forecasting, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor s Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with 5-7 years of experience.
  • Master s Degree in Engineering preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • Professional Engineer s License preferred.
  • Valid driver s license required.

Communication Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
  • Proficient in writing reports, correspondence, speeches, and presentations.
  • Effective communicator with diverse groups.

Computer Skills

  • Proficient in electrical engineering design programs, word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.

Analysis and Problem-Solving Ability

  • Applies common sense to complex instructions and solves problems with multiple variables.

Physical Demands

  • Involves sitting, standing, walking, and exposure to outdoor elements.
  • Requires lifting (up to 50 pounds), crouching, bending, climbing, and working at heights.
  • Protective equipment: hard-hat, safety glasses, hearing protection.

Work Environment

  • Time split between office and field, primarily office-based, around high-voltage facilities, computers, and construction equipment.
