RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has an enterprise client seeking a Mechanical Engineer V in Redmond, WA.
Summary:
We're looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to lead yield improvement and root cause analysis. As the Mechanical Engineer, you will be directly responsible for failure root cause and analysis, production process development and improvement of a key module on our next generation spacecraft. You'll be the leading technical voice for a team of manufacturing engineers working on the product, solving challenging technical problems associated with delivering an ultra-high-performing optical, electrical, and mechatronic module to space.
Responsibilities:
* Serve as a technical lead on failure analysis and non-conformance management
* Drive yield improvement through process change
* Support operations team directly by being a high solving power engineer, capable of bringing multiple diverging technical perspectives together in high pressure escalation moments such as quality containments
Normal day:
* 75% of time will be spent on-the production floor working with technician teams to solve all types of technical blockers, from test report reviews, defect material triage, ERP blockers, etc.
* 25% of time will be spent performing independent development work such as performing data analysis on disturbances, improving troubleshoot documentation, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Familiarity with Low Rate Manufacturing Environments & New Product Introduction
* Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices & principles
* Experience with Root Cause Analysis Techniques such as Fishbone, Fault Tree, DMAIC, etc.
* Strong analytical skills
* Strong communication and writing skills
* Experience with Optical System Design & Metrology
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with Python Programming Language
* Experience with Fiber Optic Systems
* Experience with Statistical Analysis Software such as Minitab
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
