Description
SAIC has an immediate need for a Linux System Administrator to support our Army and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) customers and the STARS team in Huntsville, AL/Redstone Arsenal .
Responsibilities:
- Installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of RHEL operating systems and software applications
- Apply patches and upgrades to ensure systems are current and protected against known vulnerabilities
- Integrating network services such as: group policy, drive shares, data backup and account management for Linux systems
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to meet user requirements on all assigned systems
- Perform network and hardware installation, upgrades, replacement and maintenance
- Maintain Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs) compliance
- Support Cybersecurity team requirements to include artifact generation, and tool support
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience; four (4) years of experience are accepted in lieu of a degree
Required Clearance:
- An Active Secret Security Clearance
Required Certification:
- DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 Computing Environment (CE) Certification in an approved Linux discipline required and must be maintained
- CompTIA Security+ Certification required and must be maintained
Required Skills:
- Experience as a System Administrator or similar role in Linux Environments
- Demonstrate a disciplined approach to systems administration
- Disciplined experience in developing system documentation
- Self-motivated, possess strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, technically advanced team environment
