We are on the lookout for a seasoned Technical Engineer to join our team in Wilmington, Massachusetts. As a Technical Engineer, you will lead a team in developing real-time C++ software for our cutting-edge metal 3D printing technology. Your responsibilities will include architecting and implementing software, providing technical guidance, collaborating on strategic engineering plans, and ensuring code quality and documentation.

Principal Software Engineer

Our Client, a leader in additive manufacturing, seeks a Principal Software Engineer. In this role, you'll lead a team in developing real-time C++ software for our cutting-edge metal 3D printing technology. Your responsibilities include architecting and implementing software for our high-speed, multi-laser Area Printer, providing technical guidance, collaborating on strategic engineering plans, and ensuring code quality and documentation. Requirements: 7+ years' experience, advanced C++ skills, OOD/OOA knowledge, SDLC experience, and leadership abilities. Nice-to-haves: Additive manufacturing experience, PLC programming, and motion control software development expertise.

MUST HAVE

* Experience programming multi-axis motion controllers such as Galil, ACS, etc.(EtherCAT motion controller experience, huge+)

* Advanced C++ software development experience. Specifically, deterministic (hard) real-time C++ development experience.

Responsibilities

Lead a team in the development of real-time C++ software for metal 3D printing technology.

Architect and implement software for high-speed, multi-laser Area Printer.

Provide technical guidance to the team and collaborate on strategic engineering plans.

Ensure the quality of code and documentation.

Monitor and maintain software systems for optimal functionality.

Utilize skills in Motion control, Real-Time, C++, and C# - Sharp to enhance software development processes.

Collaborate with other engineers and professionals in the company to improve software development practices.

Handle the programming of multi-axis motion controllers.

Develop and implement strategies for improving software performance.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in software development.

Requirements

The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Engineer.
Demonstrated expertise in Motion Control is necessary.
Proficiency in Real-Time systems is essential.
Solid understanding and skills in C++ programming language.
Experience in C# Sharp programming is required.
The candidate must have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are mandatory.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in technical engineering.
A relevant degree in Engineering or related field is required.
Continual learner, staying up-to-date with latest industry trends and advancements.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
