Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Network Administrator contractor to join our team. The administrator will be responsible to assist the team in managing incident and service request load as well as assisting with various network projects, as assigned. This position offers the possibility of remote work, allowing for flexibility in work location.
Job Obligations:

Assisting end-users with resolution of network-related incidents and service requests.

Plan, maintain, monitor, and refresh core network hardware.

Use standard monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Catalyst Center, Meraki Dashboard) to ensure network availability and eliminate configuration drift.

Troubleshoot, configure, and operate network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls and wireless access points.

Implement and optimize network solution designs aligned with company standards.

Follow standard procedures for deploying new network hardware and services.

Manage and maintain network diagrams and asset database.

Partner with and support the business to maintain optimal services.

Follow all documented standard operating procedures in accordance with IT security policies.

Engage with key vendors and service providers as needed for escalation and incident resolution.

Drive towards operational excellence by seeking innovative solutions to existing problems and recurring incidents.

Ensure network infrastructure is maintained and updated with applicable firmware and security hotfixes.

Automate and streamline processes where opportunities are identified.

Stay current on industry trends and new technologies by researching and participating in continuous learning opportunities.
Required Skills:
-
Bachelor's Degree in IT (or equivalent) and/or 3+ years of practical network services experience.

Solid understanding of the OSI model and network layer concepts (Layer 2, Layer 3, Layer 4).

Proficient in troubleshooting and configuring network devices.

Knowledge of application-aware firewall technologies and SDWAN technologies.

Understanding of basic authentication and network access concepts (ISE, TACACS, Kerberos, and other AAA services).

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
-
Ability to communicate technical topics to non-technical audiences and build partnerships with key personnel.

Experience working in a manufacturing environment and understanding the reliability, sensitivity, and critical requirements of network expectations.

Understanding of IT Service Management.
Preferred Skills:
-
Experience operating in a multi-cloud computing environment (AWS, Azure, etc.).

Experience working with OT/ICS manufacturing environments.
-
Knowledge and/or experience with Meraki, Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, VeloCloud technologies.
-
Experience with Manufacturing Industrial Switching, specifically Cisco IE and Stratix industrial switch technologies.
-
Network+, CCNA, PaloAlto or Fortinet Certifications.
