Role: Senior ADABAS DBA
Location: Remote
Position Overview:
The Senior ADABAS DBA will lead the administration, optimization, and security of ADABAS databases in large, complex enterprise environments. This role requires deep technical expertise in ADABAS internals, advanced performance tuning, automation, and security, while also ensuring regulatory compliance and high availability. The DBA will work as part of a Managed Services team, focusing on operational efficiency, incident management, and collaboration with stakeholders.

The Senior ADABAS DBA will lead the administration, optimization, and security of ADABAS databases in large, complex enterprise environments. This role requires deep technical expertise in ADABAS internals, advanced performance tuning, automation, and security, while also ensuring regulatory compliance and high availability. The DBA will work as part of a Managed Services team, focusing on operational efficiency, incident management, and collaboration with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee ADABAS database health, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Lead automation initiatives, change management, and routine maintenance.
- Monitor system performance, respond to incidents, and manage deployments.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and security standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align database strategies with business needs.
- Maintain documentation, enforce standards, and provide leadership in best practices.
- ADABAS Expertise: Internals, utilities, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting.
- Linux Skills: System administration, scripting (e.g., Shell), performance tuning, and security.
- z/OS Skills: JCL, dataset management, performance monitoring, and security protocols.
- Experience in enterprise-scale database environments, preferably in Managed Services.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills in high-pressure environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
