Integration Engineer and Construction Management Specialist
Key Role:

Support the Department of Veterans Affairs ( VA ) as a Construction Manager and assist with the implementation of infrastructure projects for Electronic Health Record Modernization ( EHRM ) . Serve as a subject matter expert to assist with implementing programmatic and technical requirements for ongoing infrastructure construction projects asso cia ted with IT infrastructure modernization. The primary function of the Construction Manager is to identify and mitigate risks, issues, and solutions asso cia ted with government-led construction project management, facility infrastructure readiness, such as space, power, HVAC, fire code, plumbing, civil, and physical security, and data center and facility IT infrastructure. Support coordination of data center phasing, phasing requirements, and phasing schedules, monitoring construction schedules to support readiness for Go-Live waves, lead construction kick-off calls on behalf of program office to communicate establish requirements and quality performance expectations, remediate conflict asso cia ted with implementation of construction activities and schedules, negotiate contracts or contract modifications to support Program Engineer and COR, and corresp ond with project managers and other VHA stakeholders to coordinate or resolve project management issues causing schedule delays, impacting scope, or preventing site readiness. Maintain responsibility for supporting data center and telecom room phasing and sequencing during construction activities. Integrate all stakeholders into complex processes without disrupting existing hospital IT services. Support or lead data center equipment coordination, delivery, and turnover processes. Assess General Contractor schedule to ensure appropriate activities captured with agreed upon durations and logic ties. Monitor construction progress for any scope and schedule changes that may affect the contracts and assess the contract lead times for timely FORCE package submission. Work with leadership to resolve, mitigate, or arbitrate conflict. Lead briefings to EHRM Program Managers and stakeholders. Support interagency collaboration activities asso cia ted with government construction projects to coordinate or resolve project management issues causing schedule delays, impacting scope, or preventing site readiness. Identify options and recommend solutions to execute complex activities during construction and prevent or minimize the negative impacts on project schedules. Negotiate contracts or contract modifications to support Program Engineer and COR.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience with large-scale commer cia l or government infrastructure projects as a Project Manager, Project Engineer, Contracting Officer Representative, or End User Representative
  • Experience with reviewing and monitoring project time schedules and facilities projects to assure compliance for contract provisions and standards
  • Experience with reviewing and assessing construction project cost estimates
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations ( FARs ) as it applies to construction contracts
  • Knowledge of facility infrastructure requirements asso cia ted with data center operations, including space, power, fiber, cabling, HVAC, fire code, plumbing, civil, or physical security
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture and 3+ years of experience with data center -specific construction or engineering projects, or IT, or 6+ years of experience with data center -specific construction or engineering projects in lieu of a degree


Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience in the Department of Veterans Affairs supporting infrastructure construction projects
  • Experience with supporting construction in a healthcare or hospital environment as a Healthcare Engineer
  • Experience with government contract ing vendor acquisition
  • Experience with managed data center upgrades, relocations, construction, and activation
  • Experience with using Micro sof t SharePoint, Project, Visio, and Power BI, Procore, eBuilder, BIM 360, and Bluebeam sof tware
  • Project Management Professional ( PMP ) , Certified Construction Manager ( CCM ) , or Certified Healthcare Facility Manager ( CHFM ) Certification
  • Registered Architect or Professional Engineer Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
