About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Document Specialist / Technical Writer to join our team, functioning as a Contract Writer. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and maintaining documentation related to procurement activities including purchase orders, service agreements, vendor contracts, modifications, and amendments.

You will work closely with business units, legal teams, and stakeholders to ensure that all contractual language, terms, and requirements are clearly defined, compliant, and aligned with organizational standards. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing and editing skills, strong project management capabilities, and the ability to develop new contractual language beyond existing templates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and edit procurement-related documents, including contracts, amendments, and service agreements.

  • Develop scopes of work, performance requirements, and terms and conditions for goods and services.

  • Ensure all contract language is accurate, clear, and consistent with business and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with procurement, legal, and business stakeholders to align documentation with departmental needs.

  • Maintain an internal documentation library and coordinate special documentation projects as needed.

  • Lead or support documentation projects of moderate to high complexity.

  • Provide guidance or mentorship to junior team members as required.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Bachelor s degree in Legal Studies, Technical Writing, Business Administration, or a related field.

    • Equivalent professional experience may be considered.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business or technical writing, with a focus on procurement documentation.

    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Preferred Skills & Experience

    • Knowledge of federal, state, and local procurement laws and regulations.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with legal counsel, procurement officers, and stakeholders.

    • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Analytical and problem-solving mindset.

    • Strong organizational and project management skills.
