The Lead Engineer, Supply Chain Data Aggregation Platform will build systems that collect and combine real-time data from upstream products and partner teams. These systems produce item-location-level signals that inform key supply chain decisions - what to stock, where to move it, when to move it, and how to route it, ensuring guests get the right products, in the right place, at the right time. Our outputs shape everything from daily replenishment to demand planning and inventory eligibility.

As a Lead Engineer, you serve as the technical anchor for the engineering team that supports a product. You create, own and are responsible for the application architecture that best serves the product in its functional and non-functional needs. You identify and drive architectural changes to accelerate feature development or improve the quality of service (or both). You lead by mentoring engineers, setting technical direction, and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.

What You'll Do:
  • Forecast Aggregation: Producing daily and weekly unconstrained demand forecasts at the item-location level.
  • Eligibility Evaluation - Applying rule-based logic to decide if an item-location is eligible for middle-mile movement
  • Data Aggregation - Combining information across systems such as network topology, delivery schedules, lead times, demand schedules, and compliance, into a single, consistent output used across the organization.

These systems support billions of item-location combinations across 20 million items and more than 2,000 locations. They're designed to scale, adapt, and deliver accurate data for operational and strategic use.

Core Technologies:
  • Languages: Kotlin
  • Runtimes/Frameworks: Frameworkless
  • Event Streaming: Kafka
  • Datastores: Postgres, Cassandra, RocksDB
  • Metrics & Monitoring: InfluxDB, Grafana

Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

About You:
  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of software development experience with at least one end-to-end product delivery
  • Strong expertise in designing distributed systems and event-driven architectures
  • Demonstrates broad and deep expertise in multiple computer languages and open-source frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate with project team, partners, and stakeholders
  • Skilled in optimizing systems capacity, performance, and operational health
  • Maintains deep expertise while staying current emerging technologies through formal and self-directed training
