Job Details

We are seeking a Database Architect to lead the modernization of our database platform as part of the transformation of our Commissions Applications (V&G Volumes & Genealogy). Currently, the application leverages Oracle (CREW), and work is already underway to modernize the front-end from AngularJS to a React-based Progressive Web App (PWA) for cross-platform/mobile use.

The Database Architect will be responsible for evaluating and recommending target AWS cloud-native databases, designing the schemas and data architecture, and enabling event-driven and serverless integrations. This role will define the database modernization roadmap and collaborate with DB Engineers who will execute migrations and build event-driven data pipelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 8+ yearsof experience in database architecture and design, with expertise in Oracle.
  • Hands-on experience migrating Oracle systems to AWS-native databases:
    • PostgreSQL (RDS/Aurora)
    • DynamoDB
    • Redis (ElastiCache)
    • Neptune (Graph)
    • Redshift (Analytics/Warehousing)
  • Strong knowledge of the AWS serverless stack: Lambda, EventBridge, Step Functions, API Gateway.
  • Proficiency in Python or Node.jsfor scripting, automation, and event-driven workflows.
  • Expertise in data modeling, schema design, and performance optimization(relational + NoSQL).
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecturesand microservices.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance.
